Season 3, episode 4 of Billions (possibly the greatest TV show ever in my opinion) is titled Hell of a Ride, and I think that pretty well sums up the last few months for me and for Keepons.
Toby sold the business to Cayce and Company because he had had enough, but the new owners realized that much of the success of Keepons had to do with the enormous amount of personal effort required, ie customer support. That a lot of things cannot be automated, margins are slim, and well...
With the help of my parents, I've managed to buy Keepons for just a little over what it was sold for, and as a result I'm the boss now.
In terms of overseeing several factories, online shops, and a solid brand name.
Truth be told, financially, everything I own is in this business.
I've had to move back in with my parents, but nothing wrong with that. We get along great.
Emotionally, I've never been happier.
So here's to the future.
And the continuation of the Keepons goal: to stop the world's glasses from slipping.
Yours, Helene Lam
PS - Happy Labor Day everyone!
