Measuring Your Eyeglass Temple Tip Diameter and Temple Bend Diameter

For the sake of clarity, the location of the eyeglass temple tip and temple bend are labeled in the photo below. The temple tips are simply the ends of your temples and the temple bends are where your temple curves to rest over your ears.

Knowing your temple tip diameter and temple bend diameter is important because of How Keepons work.

To measure your temple tip diameter, locate the widest part of your temple tips that the Keepons threading hole needs to stretch past.

Now imagine a dotted line running across that widest part and using a ruler measure the length of that dotted line.

To clarify, in the picture below, the green dotted line succeeds at visualizing the part of the temple tip we're interested in. Its length approximates and can be used to represent the Temple Tip Diameter.

The red dotted line is wrong, because putting on Keepons at that angle is like putting on socks by putting your heels into the sock hole first. Naturally, we insert our toes first.

To measure your temple bend diameter, locate the narrowest part of your temple bends. Remember that this is the spot that the Keepons threading hole needs to grip tightly.

Now imagine a dotted line running across that narrowest part and using a ruler measure the length of that dotted line.

The green dotted line in the photo below succeeds at visualizing the part of the temple bend we're interested in. Its length approximates and can be used to represent the Temple Bend Diameter.

The red dotted line is wrong, because it is not the shortest line we can draw.

If you're still unsure, this visualization might help.
